Oct. 22, 2002
There is a renewed energy emanating from Cal Athletics and it is the direct result of the leadership and vision provided by Athletic Director Steve Gladstone. We invite you to be a part of history.
Please be our guest at a reception where we will hear from Steve and the head coaches of all four aquatics teams, including: Nort Thornton, Men's Swimming; Teri McKeever, Women's Swimming; new head coaches Kirk Everist, Men's Water Polo; and Amber Drury-Pinto, Women's Water Polo. In addition, we will be announcing the formation of a new organization dedicated to the further development of our world-class aquatics programs. This will be accomplished through fundraising efforts and special events in support of our athletes. The program will be implemented by an organized alumni group, coordinated in conjunction with Cal Athletics, and by ensuring a rewarding experience for everyone.
We are now developing our list of alumni and friends. In light of these efforts, we hope that you will reach out to your friends and contacts who are interested in furthering the Cal's tradition of academic and athletic excellence in the aquatic sports, and invite them to attend as well.
