BERKELEY, Calif. - After 26 straight hours of travelling, we finally made it home! It was a grueling couple of travel days, especially when we saw that we had no TVs on our 11-hour flight home from Paris to San Francisco. We were all counting on watching movies to pass the time, but instead we had to resort to sleeping.
Looking back, the trip came and went by so fast. It seems like just yesterday we were all at the Tang center getting our many vaccines. All the shots were definitely worth it after experiencing Africa with my teammates. From camel riding in Tunisia to visiting the orphanage in Senegal, this trip was one of my favorites. I'm so thankful I was able to experience it with the people I did. It wouldn't have been the same otherwise.
Seeing Rama interact with others in her element was a lot of fun. It was great to see where she grew up and to meet her family. They were so excited to see her come home. Her house is literally two minutes from the beach. I will definitely be visiting her in Senegal sometime soon!
Although it was hard saying goodbye to the girls for the summer, this trip to Africa was a great end to an amazing freshman year. It was especially hard saying goodbye to Krista as she is our only senior who is graduating and will not be returning next year.
Thanks to everyone involved for making the trip such a memorable one!
