Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"Just excited to be in the championship game. It was a great game, I thought. We did a great job. I was just proud of our team to be able to come into this environment and gut it out with the travel and stuff. We stuck with our game plan. We knew defense and rebounding was going to win the game. And that is our M.O."
"We really turned the corner this post season. The freshmen have really been playing a lot of minutes since January. They are somewhat sophomores at this point with the number of minutes they have had. We have played in front of bug crowds before. Not every night, but we have. We are used to tournament play with big teams. Usually freshmen hit a wall in February when the high school season is over. Usually their body clocks just shut down at that point. We have fought through that pretty well."
Freshman center Talia Caldwell
"We just know that defense is our M.O. We take a lot of pride that rebounding is the backbone to every win that we have. So we really work on the rebounding effort. Since we really want the win, we are just not going to get away from what is our bread and butter. We concentrated on that because we knew it would help us get a win."
Senior guard Alexis Gray-Lawson
"I think we were rushing our shots early in the game, taking a lot of quick shots. We turned it up a little bit on defense and then on the offensive end, just sort of slowing it down and not trying to rush everything."
