The California Golden Bear women's basketball team has finalized the 2010-11 schedule, adding a game at Illinois on Dec. 28. The Bears have also changed the dates of two road contests (at Texas A&M and Stanford) and have announced that at least three games this season will be televised on Fox Sports Net.
Cal added to their strong schedule with the addition of a road contest against the Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois. The game will be the final non-conference game of the season for the Bears taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 28 in Champaign. The Illini advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT tournament last post-season. It will be the first meeting between the Bears and Illini since the 1990-91 season.
The Bears also have two date changes to the original schedule, both prompted by TV coverage. Cal's non-conference game at Texas A&M has been moved to Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11:00 a.m. Central Time. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net as part of the Big 12 women's basketball TV slate. The Battle of the Bay at Stanford to close out Cal's regular season has also had a date change. Stanford and Cal will now play on Thursday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m. at Stanford. The game will be carried live on Fox Sports Net.
The Bears have two other televised games that have been announced by the Pac-10 and FSN. The first half of the Battle of the Bay when Cal hosts Stanford on Sunday, Jan. 2 at 12:30 will be broadcast as will the Cal/Washington State game in Berkeley on Saturday, Feb. 12. The Washington State game will tip at 7:30 p.m.
Other televised games could be announced at a later date once "wild card" games in the FSN package are determined. The semifinals and finals of the Pac-10 Tournament will also be carried on FSN.
Locally, in Berkeley, FSN games can be seen on CSN Bay Area.
