BERKELEY - The Cal Sports Report will air on Comcast SportsNet California at 4 p.m. PT on Saturday, three hours before the Golden Bears kick off their 2009 season against Maryland in a nationally televised ESPN2 contest at Memorial Stadium.
The season's first edition of the television show, hosted by Todd McKim and Kate Scott, features a 2009 Cal football season preview as well as interviews with head coach Jeff Tedford, Heisman Trophy candidate Jahvid Best and first-team preseason All-American Syd'Quan Thompson.
Other segments of the show will provide viewers with an update on the Student-Athlete High Performance Center currently under construction, women's volleyball and men's soccer features, and an interview with Athletics Director Sandy Barbour. The Cal Sports Report is a weekly production highlighting the accomplishments of Cal Athletics and bringing viewers news from within the department.
