    On the win against USC
"That was a fun game for us to play. I think even more rewarding to watch the guys start to get a feel for each other and start to believe in each other and play that way. It was a different game in that the offensively we didn't really put together a lot of great statistics, but we played a pretty efficient game with low penalties, probably the lowest we've had in my four years. The defense didn't play great in the first half, but came in the second half and played dominating. And then the special teams came through and had a real great effort, so the three units played well. It was a good win, now we've got to go on to Oregon St.

On upcoming game against Oregon St.
"Looking at them, they're better than they were last year. Their running game is very efficient. (Ken) Simonton is doing a terrific job. Good receivers, the quarterback is very efficient and doesn't get into trouble much. Pretty smart player. And they have a lot of confidence. They play with a lot more emotion., you can say, swagger than they had in the past couple of years. It's interesting to see them on tape this year after they had that bowl team last year. They play like they know they're pretty good where as last year, they were hoping they were pretty good and they ended up being pretty good. So they've got a lot of things going for them."

On Oregon St. RB Ken Simonton
"He's extremely productive. You know he's going to get the ball. They run just a few varying plays. Its not like they trick you, its just that their really effective with their running game. He's durable and he's fast. He moves well, holds onto the ball. Willing to work and he knows he carries the team on his shoulders and he does it well. Everyone rallies around him. Big play guy. It's not like he's grinding it out. He gets a lot of his yards on big plays. And so he's very patient to go five of six plays in a row, a gain of two or three yards, and then he'll pop one for 25 and he pops a lot of big runs. They don't throw him the ball much, they don't need to. That's not the design of the offense. But I think he's the best offensive player in the Pac-10."
