BERKELEY - Upon the request of his parents, friends and former teammates, the University of California Athletic Department has established a Brent Woodall Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the memory of Brent Woodall, a tight end on Cal's football team from 1988-91 who perished in New York's World Trade Center tragedy on Sept. 11.

A memorial service for Woodall is also scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 4 at the All Hallows Church in LaJolla, Calif., at 3:30 p.m. The scholarship will provide funding for future student-athletes to play Cal football.

All contributions should be made to the U.C. Regents/Brent Woodall Memorial Scholarship Fund and mailed to Tom Bowen at the Cal Athletic Development Office, 2223 Fulton St., 3rd Floor, Berkeley, CA 94720. For further information, call (510) 643-4268.
