BERKELEY, CALIF. - University of California baseball coach David Esquer will be one of 10 coaches who will participate in the Easton California College Baseball Media Day, Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Stanford's Arrillaga Sports Center. Head coaches from the six Bay Area schools (Cal, Stanford, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's, San Jose State), plus coaches from UC Davis, Pacific, Sacramento State and Fresno State, will be part of a live three-hour webcast webcast link that will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Easton California College Baseball Media Day site.
Each coach will also tape an extended segment with collegebaseballtoday.com's Eric Sorenson, which will also be posted on the Easton Media Day site following the event.
"This is a great event to showcase all that the Golden State has to offer in regards to college baseball," said Kyle Horn, Easton's Vice President of Marketing, who had sponsored a southern California media day Jan. 22 in Anaheim as well. "I am happy that Easton can play a big part in this event, and further our commitment to the collegiate game."
The Golden Bears, led by returning All-Pac-10 outfielder/first baseball Mark Canha, open their 2010 season Friday, Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m. with the first game of a three-game series versus Southern Utah at Evans Diamond.
