BERKELEY - Three California football players were selected on the second day of the NFL Draft, Sunday - offensive tackle Ryan O'Callaghan, center Marvin Philip and offensive guard Aaron Merz. All three linemen were integral in the Golden Bears' posting one of the nation's best rushing attacks in 2004 and 2005.

O'Callaghan was the first Cal player selected, as he was drafted in the fifth round (136th overall pick) by the New England Patriots. Philip was picked up in the sixth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers (201st pick overall), and Merz was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round (248th pick).

O'Callaghan earned the 2005 Morris Trophy as the Pac-10's top offensive lineman. He was also a two-time first-team All-Pac-10 honoree (2004 and 2005).

Philip was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, which honors the nation's top center, in both 2004 and 2005. He also was a two-time first-team all-conference honoree.

Merz also earned All-Pac-10 recognition his final two seasons - second team in 2005 and honorable mention in 2004.
