Gagnet Fourth in 3-Meter Diving at NCAA Regional

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - California senior Louie Gagnet took fourth on the three-meter springboard at the NCAA Division I Zone E Diving Regional held today at Oklahoma Community College and qualified for the 2005 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships with a score of 539.50. He finished behind winner Joona Puhakka from Arizona State (612.55), runner-up John Collier from Arizona (552.65) and third-place finisher Mike Hilde from USC (541.60).

Puhakka also won the one-meter competition yesterday, while Gagnet was third.

Gagnet will be joining the Cal swimmers March 24-26 in Minneapolis, Minn., for the NCAA Championships.

The platform diving competition at the NCAA Zone E Regional will take place at 1 p.m. CT tomorrow.
