Women's Golf Places Seventh at Stanford Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The California women's golf team finished seventh Sunday at the 17-team Stanford Invitational with a 54-hole score of 890. The Golden Bears shot a 299 Sunday at the Stanford Golf Course (par 72, 6154 yards) to finish 35 strokes behind first place Tulsa (855).

This is the second-straight tournament that Cal has shot three-straight rounds under 300.

USC and Vanderbilt tied for second with scores of 872. Rounding out the top six were Washington (874), UCLA (875) and Arizona State (886).

Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh won the tournament with a 13-under-par 203. Arizona State's Jimin Kang, who was the first two days leader, placed second (206).

After carding a 71 in the final round, junior Vikki Laing emerged as the Bears top golfer with a 216, tying for ninth. Sophomore Sarah Huarte tied for 13th with a 218, including a final round of 73. Senior Anne Walker tied for 15th at 219.

The Bears finished a drop off from their other golfers. Junior Ria Quiazon tied for 67th with a 237, and Anna Temple tied for 73rd with a 239. Competing as an individual Amber Reilly also tied for 67th.

Cal closes out its fall slate at the Rainbow Wahine Classic, Oct. 30-31.
