WOODLAND, CALIF. - California senior attacker Ivan Rackov has been named the KAP7 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week for the second time this season, and the fourth time in his career, after leading the Golden Bears to an 11-8 victory over Pepperdine last Friday at Spieker Aquatics Complex, it was announced Monday (Oct. 24) by MPSF commissioner Al Beaird.
Rackov, a 6-1, 177-pounder from Belgrade, Serbia, paced Cal with four goals in the MPSF league win over No. 6 Pepperdine. He helped the Bears improve to 15-3 overall and 3-1 in the MPSF by scoring two of his four goals in the fourth period as Cal outscored the Waves, 3-2, in the final eight minutes to help clinch the win. With Rackov's four scores he now has 219 career goals, placing him second on the Bears all-time career scoring list. He leads the MPSF with 54 goals in 17 matches (3.18 gpg).

During the 2010 campaign, Rackov was named both the ACWPC National Player of the Year and the winner of the Peter J. Cutino Award. He was the MPSF POW Oct. 18, 2010 and the Nov. 1, 2010, as well.
Cal next hosts UC Irvine in a league match on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 12 p.m. Spieker Aquatics Complex is again the host site for NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship, Dec. 3-4, 2011 in Berkeley.
