BERKELEY - Coming off a clean sweep in all 13 of its races last weekend at Redwood Shores, California women's crew heads to San Diego for the 40th annual San Diego Crew Classic in Mission Bay this Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7.
Cal, ranked second nationally, defeated Oklahoma, Northeastern, Clemson and Stanford last weekend in its 13 victories overall at Redwood Shores. The Bears' varsity eight, which saw a new lineup each of the two days, won all three of its races, posting a time of 6:29.8 in the victory over Oklahoma on Saturday.
Racing in the San Diego Crew Classic gets underway at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday on Mission Bay. The 2,000-meter course will start near the Sea World towers and pass the Ingraham Street Bridge along Mission Bay towards the finish at Crown Point Shores. For a map of the course, click here.

Last season, Cal's varsity eight placed fourth at the San Diego Crew Classic, while the freshman eight took home top honors in the grand final and the junior varsity finished fifth.
Following the San Diego Crew Classic, Cal will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, at the Lake Natoma Invitational in Gold River.
