BERKELEY - California announced four date changes to the school's 2010 football schedule on Wednesday, including a move of the 113th Big Game to Saturday, Nov. 20. In addition to the Stanford contest, date changes for road games at Arizona and Washington State were approved by the Pacific-10 Conference athletic directors this week. The Golden Bears will visit Arizona on Sept. 25 and play at WSU Nov. 6.
Cal's game at Nevada will also move to Friday, Sept. 17 to accommodate a 7 p.m. PT ESPN2 telecast.
The date of the Big Game was moved up two weeks to Nov. 20 to avoid a conflict with the beginning of final exam week at Stanford.
"While the timing is not ideal it is important to support the academic needs of our fellow Pac-10 institutions," said Cal Deputy Director of Athletics Steve Holton. "Our hopes are that we have given our Golden Bear fans enough advance notice that they will continue their outstanding support of the Big Game."
Cal will open its final season with the current configuration of Memorial Stadium in 2010 with the first of seven home games versus UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington will also visit Memorial Stadium this season.
Cal football fans can renew their football season tickets for the 2010 campaign by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at (800) GO BEARS or visiting CalBears.com.
