Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"We did the game with our posts in foul trouble much of the game. We hope not to repeat that again tomorrow. I have the conversation with them all the time that we have a three post rotation right now because I really like Lindsay at the three. It just puts a lot of stress on their post partners to have to play way too many minutes. So just keeping them fresh and being able to go with the three post rotation is good for us as long as we can stay out of foul trouble."
On freshman guard Afure Jemerigbe
"She had a great game today. You could see that it has been coming. I think she just really bought into the defensive end. She really did a good job for us down there and then she was just all the more confident on the offensive end of the floor. She had that early travel and then she just let it go and played some really good basketball for us."
On senior guard Rachelle Federico
"She came in and went 3-for-6 from the three and just stretched that lead for us a little bit. She got her hands on some loose balls for us. We were able to extend the zone a little bit. They were really clogging it up with D and Talia in there and they weren't guarding our shooters. And then Mooch came in and knocked some shots down and gave us some better looks in the second half."
On taking on Texas Tech on Monday "Great team. They are a big team. I think we can run on them a little bit. They're physical. They are a Big-12 team. It'll be a great challenge for us. We played them a couple of years ago but totally different personnel. I am glad we got to play a lot of people today. I think that will help us for tomorrow."
Senior guard Rachelle Federico
On her offensive play in the first half
"I don't think it was anything different than what I had been doing. Just the ball decided to go in the hole today. D and Talia suck up everybody, so in a game like this, the skips are there all night. It was good to see everybody score a little bit and contribute. It was a good team win."
On her two blocks in the second half
"I am trying to take pride a little more in my defense this year. I am actually figuring out how long my arms are and realizing I can get a few tips in than before. I am just staying a little lower on defense. It helps your jumps a little bit. I am doing what I can."
Freshman guard Afure Jemerigbe
On her three point shooting
"I just came out and was feeling it a little bit, so I was like why not take it. I hit the first one so I decided I was going to try it again and they started to fall for me."
On her five steals
"We focused a lot in practice to deny balls. Whenever I went in, Coach Charmin told me let your defense come first and then your offensive game will come. All I did was try to get a hand in the lane and try to help my team out with the steal."
