BERKELEY - Due to the projected track of Hurricane Rita, Cal's men's soccer will alter the schedule of this weekend's Stanford Nike Invitational, with Friday's games moving to Saturday evening and Sunday's matches moving later in the day to accommodate back-to-back game-days.
Cal will now face Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 3:30 p.m. The Bears will take on Army at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25.
All commercial flights through the Houston Airport System will cease in preparation for the hurricane, causing Alabama-Birmingham's flights to Palo Alto through Houston to be cancelled and preventing the Blazers from arriving in California by Friday's game time. Stanford, California and Army were able to shift the matches in order to accommodate UAB's flights and still allow all four games to be played this weekend.
