MADISON, Wis. - The Cal women's tennis team showed how dominant it can be, defeating No. 45 BYU in the first round of the ITA Indoor Championships, 7-0. With the win, the Golden Bears move on to the quarterfinals to face Texas A&M, which barely got by USC, 4-3.

The Bears were led by Nicole Havlicek and Jody Scheldt who teamed to defeat a strong BYU pair of Rebecca Pike and Lu Oswald, 8-4. Individually, Havlicek downed Lauren Jones in court No. 3 and Scheldt made quick work of Oswald, 6-2,6-1, in court No. 5.
