2011 Cal Football: Information Guide

(BERKELEY) - Brendan Bigelow was named a Kickoff Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards on Sunday following his performance Saturday in a 63-12 win over Presbyterian that included an 88-yard kick return for a touchdown that was the 10th longest kick return in school history.

Bigelow became the first Golden Bear since Lavelle Hawkins (90, vs. Louisiana Tech, 9/15/07) to return a kickoff for a touchdown when he went untouched on the second quarter return.

Bigelow, who became the first Golden Bear to win a Performer of the Week honor from the organization in 2011, finished with two kick returns for 111 yards. He added two rushes for 15 yards and one reception for 11 to total 137 all-purpose yards.

Sean Cattouse added honorable mention CFPA Defensive Back Performer of the Week after recording two interceptions, both of which set up Cal touchdowns and the first of which he returned 20 yards. Cattouse was one of the leaders of a Cal defense that held Presbyterian to 48 yards of total offense and 28 rushing yards.

Cattouse is the sixth Cal player to earn honorable mention recognition from the CFPA for their 2011 weekly honors. He joins Bryan Anger, Zach Maynard and Anthony Miller (9/10/11), as well as Trevor Guyton and Marvin Jones (9/3/11).

Cal (3-0, 0-0 Pac-12) completed the non-conference portion of its 2011 regular-season schedule unbeaten with Saturday's win over Presbyterian. The Bears open a nine-game Pac-12 slate at Washington (2-1, 0-0 Pac-12) this Saturday, Sept. 24 (12:30 p.m. PT). The contest will be telecast on a national basis by Fox Sports Net and will be shown locally on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

The Cal commercial radio broadcast of the contest can be heard on the IMG College Sports Radio Network, with KGO 810 AM in San Francisco serving as the flagship station. The KGO version of the broadcast is also available live online at CalBears.com. KALX 90.7 FM offers fans the student radio broadcast.

Season and single-game Cal football tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at CalBears.com, or by calling the Cal Athletic Ticket Office at (800) GO BEARS.

The remainder of Cal's 2011 home schedule at AT&T Park includes four contests against Pac-12 opponents USC (Thu., Oct. 13), Utah (Sat., Oct. 22), Washington State (Sat., Nov. 5) and Oregon State (Sat., Nov. 12).

After playing the last 88 seasons and every home game at Memorial Stadium since the facility opened for the 1923 Big Game, Cal is hosting its home contests outside of Berkeley in 2011 for the first time since Memorial Stadium opened while the venue undergoes an extensive renovation and retrofit.
