BERKELEY - • After being down 40-29 with 17:14 left in the second half, California went on a 10-0 run over the next 2:25 to come within one, 40-39. Then, after being down 12 with 2:19 left to play, the Bears went on a 17-6 run to pull within a point with three seconds remaining.

• Having only scored six points in his previous five appearances, Jeff Powers has now scored 37 points over the last three games.

• The Golden Bears tied their season low with only seven turnovers. They did it previously against Arizona State on Feb. 3, 2011 (8).

• With 11 points tonight, Jorge Gutierrez has now reached double digits in his last seven games.

Harper Kamp had 16 points and 10 rebounds, good for his third double-double of the season.

• Markhuri-Sanders Frison achieved his team-leading sixth double-double of the season with 23 points (10-15, 66.6%) and 11 rebounds. His 23 points were a new career high. His previous high of 18 came against Oregon on Jan. 29, 2011. Sanders-Frison also went 2-2 from behind the arc. The baskets were his first career three-pointers.

• Cal had five players score in double figures for the third time this season, and the second time all five starters achieved this feat.

• After being outrebounded, 22-17, at half, the Bears pulled down 22 boards in the second half, finishing ahead in the battle on the boards, 39-33.
