BERKELEY, Calif. - The 40 points Washington scored were the fewest by a Cal opponent this season and marked the fourth time this year that the Bears have held an opponent under 40 points and the third time in the last four games.

Cal held Washington to a 28.6 field goal percentage, which was the lowest by a Bears' opponent this season.

Cal leads the Pac-10 in scoring defense at 54.1 ppg.

The 26-point Pac-10-opening victory was one off of the school record for the largest margin of victory in a Pac-10 opener. Cal led by as many as 28 points (66-38) with 4:18 left in the game. The Bears' record for a Pac-10 opener was set against Oregon (94-67) Jan. 3, 1991.

Cal held a 40-31 rebounding edge over Washington, marking the 10th time in 12 games the Bears have outrebounded their opponent.

Devanei Hampton is now only 10 points away from 1000 for her career after recording a season-high 12 points tonight.

Krista Foster played in her 100th game for Cal tonight.
