STANFORD, CALIF. - Freshman Thomas Selby led the Cal divers Friday (Jan. 13) during the first day of the Bruins Stanford Diving Invitational held at the Avery Aquatic Center, placing eighth in the one-meter competition final with a score of 263.45. Selby, from Menlo Park, recorded a score of 254.85 in the one-meter prelims.
Other divers competing on the one-meter board for the Bears included sophomore Tyler Pullen and sophomore Grayson Huston. Pullen had a score of 240.15 and had a mark of 288.90 in the consolations. Huston had a score of 225.05 in the prelims and 258.75 in the consolations.
Coach Todd Mulzet's squad will next compete in the three-meter competition of Saturday, Jan. 14, and the platform competition on Sunday, Jan. 15 at the Bruins Stanford Diving Invitational.
In dual meet competition, Oct. 21 versus Utah, Pullen won the one-meter board with a score of 308.93, followed by Selby with a mark of 299.85. Selby was second on the three-meter board against the Utes as well, recording a score of 3:13.28.
In Cal's first dual meet of the year, Oct. 13 versus Hawaii, Selby was second on the three-meter board (312.53), and Pullen was third in the one-meter competition (265.14).
