With the start of the 2010-11 California men's basketball season just a few weeks away, will feature video Q&As on all of the new Golden Bears in the weeks leading up to the start of the season.

Emerson Murray played on the Canadian Junior National team and in the All-Canada Classic All Star Game. He was regarded by Hoopstars Canada as the second-best backcourt prospect in Canada. Murray was also selected to play in the All-Canada Classic, which is comparable to the McDonald's All-American Game.

Last season, he averaged 22.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg and 5.0 apg in his shortened senior season due to a broken ankle suffered during a game in Las Vegas the previous summer. As a junior at St. George's School, Murray averaged 24.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 3.0 spg

"Emerson is a swing player out of Canada that we think is a diamond in the rough," head coach Mike Montgomery said. "He is very athletic, explosive and can really defend. He was slowed in the preseason with an illness, but we feel like he has the ability to plug a lot of spots because of his athletic ability and competitiveness."
