March 26, 2004

East Meadow, NY - Cal grabbed third place in the 200-meter medley relay (1:35.02) while the winning team, Auburn, set a new NCAA record. Senior Alex Lim led off, followed by sophomore Milorad Cavic, sophomore Ricky Barbosa, and anchored by junior Duje Draganja.

Cavic (50.81) and Draganja (51.56) finished 2-3 in the 100-meter butterfly, trailing only the world record-setting swim by Texas' Ian Crocker (49.07). Crocker broke the world record Cavic set in December.

Barbosa finished fourth in the 100-meter breaststroke (59.45) and Lim finished fifth in the 100-meter backstroke (51.99), both earning points for the Golden Bears, who stand in seventh at the end of two days. Cal finished 14th in the 800-meter freestyle relay (7:16.90 - sophomore Miguel Molina, junior John Dorr, freshman Jonas Tilly, and freshman Daniel Lysaught).

Junior Louie Gagnet finished 13th in the three-meter dive today (517.65 points).
