Michael Wilson Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Team

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. - University of California golfer Michael Wilson has been named second-team Pac-10 All-Academic, it was announced today by Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen. Wilson, a junior from Pacific Grove, Calif., has a 3.38 GPA in mass communications.

Wilson had the distinction of competing in all 35 rounds for the Golden Bears this past season, posting a 74.3 stroke average and finishing as the team's top golfer in five of the squad's 12 competitions. He was the individual champion of the inaugural CordeValle Collegiate on Nov. 1 at the CordeValle Country Club in San Martin, Calif., shooting a 10-under 206 (69-70-67) and helping Cal to a third-place finish. Wilson was also named the Pac-10 Golfer of the Month for October 2005.

In 2003, Wilson was the Pac-10 Co-Freshman of the Year and second-team All-Pac-10. In 2004, he was a key member of the Bears' NCAA championship squad.
