PORT EL KANTAOUI, Tunisia -
Today we all woke up at 6:30 a.m. even though we didn't have to be up until 8 am. We were all really excited to see what this place was all about. After waking, my teammates and I went to breakfast, and it was really good.
After breakfast, we went to the Colosseum of El-Jem, which is located about an hour and a half away from our hotel. The coliseum dates back to the late second/early third century and is the second-largest Roman coliseum. It was so beautiful.
As we walked through the market, I began to wish my mom was here so she could be experiencing this great new adventure. As I stood in the middle of the coliseum, I began to pretend that this was a movie. The scene reminded me of the movie Gladiator. However in reality, prisoners were pitted against wild animals for spectators to view.
When we arrived back at the hotel, my teammates and I decided to go swimming. Devanei and I had never been on jet skis, so we decided to rent some with Krista (Foster) and Coach (Charmin) Smith. It was so much fun.
Tonight, we went to a water/light show called Medinat Alzahra. This show taught us the history of Tunisia. This was an amazing show.
I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
