BERKELEY - All Golden Bear fans are invited to come out to Memorial Stadium and watch the Cal football team in action at the annual Spring Game Saturday at 12 noon. Admission is free.
In addition to the scrimmage, the day will be full of activities, including a raffle to win a trip with the team to the UCLA game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena next fall. Fans will also have the opportunity to purchase season tickets, the "March to Victory" 2002-2004 DVD, a spring prospectus and the official 2005 Cal Football GameDay Shirt.
The fun gets underway inside the stadium at 11:30 a.m. when the Cal Band, spirit groups and Oski will perform.
Parking attendants will be stationed at lots around Memorial Stadium, and permits are $10 for the day. Concession stands on the west side of the stadium will be open for the sale of drinks and snacks, and Subway sandwiches will be available in the food court behind sections G/GG.
Free rosters will be distributed to all, and stadium announcer Dick Callahan will call all of the action on the field.
Before and after the game, fans can enjoy the Spring Game celebration at Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley. Pyramid will provide free parking and shuttle service to and from Memorial Stadium for all Cal fans, including food and beverage specials. After the scrimmage, be sure to catch some of the other Golden Bear action taking place on campus Saturday afternoon. The Cal softball team hosts Stanford at 1 p.m. on Levine-Fricke Field just above the stadium. The Cal baseball team will be in action against USC at 1 p.m. on Evans Diamond, while the women's water polo squad will play Stanford at 7 p.m.
