Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb
"We talked about any win on the road in conference is tough. I think we got Oregon's best shot today. They were ready. They were excited to play us. I think tonight was showing that we are built for different situations. We had two starters in foul trouble, Boyd and Gray, who played five minutes in the first half. They tried to take away our post game. And I think we showed that we can respond to that. Layshia was heroic, knocking down shots. We shot fifty-percent from three. We got great minutes from Mikayla and Foo in the first half. Justine and Gen coming off the bench. And then in the second half, we were able to do what we do which is be more physical, be stronger inside, but I think this was an example of our versatility tonight."
"We can mix shots around, put Layshia at the top in the zone where they were really sagging off Boyd and Eliza. We moved her to that spot and she was ready to catch and shoot. She also did a great job of getting to the paint. Her pull-up jumper was really working. I thought we did a good job of hitting the inside game in the beginning of the second half. It opened up some corner threes."
On Gennifer Brandon's Three-Pointer
"Reshanda Gray said `welcome to the one-for-one club.' I now have my two four players shooting 100 percent from three. I don't know what that means. I don't know if that means I should run some different plays. To be honest, Gen has really been feeling that high-post jumper. She has put a lot of work into it. It was a little further out than she shoots it usually, but that thing went up. The arc looked good. I thought it was going in. It was kind of one of those , `wow. Was that really the shot we were looking for?' Then she took it with confidence. Gen Brandon does a lot of good things. If we want to add three-point shooting to the mix, we'll take it."
On dominating in rebounding in the second half
"We talked about it at halftime. I love this group. They are so responsive. We knew that Oregon was going to come out and try to do a great job on the boards since we had really dominated that area at home. What I love about this team is that we know that they are trying to box us out, we just have to try a little harder. I thought Talia and Gray each set the tone with that. They were just warriors. Warriors on the boards and they wore them down a little bit. I think that is something again when you can run three or four big kids at them, it is going to help over the course of time."
Junior guard Layshia Clarendon
"It felt good. Once you make one, you make a couple of shots, things start going in. They were really low in that zone. So they were giving us the sniper shot. Coach was yelling at me to keep hitting sniper shots. I was ready this time. I made one and then I made a couple and I was just feeling it."
