Join the California women's gymnastics team in the fight against breast cancer when the Golden Bears face Stanford in the third annual Pink Meet Sunday, Feb. 22, at Haas Pavilion.
The Bears will be soliciting flat donations or pledges for every Cal score of 9.5 and above. Cal will be donating all money earned to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Bay Area Affiliate. Pledge forms will be available in the lobby of Haas Pavilion the day of the meet. The pledge forms can also be found on www.CalBears.com, on the women's gymnastics page, or by clicking here. Flat donations towards the cause are also welcome.
Fans are also encouraged to wear pink and pink-out Haas Pavilion. Those fans wearing a pink t-shirt or pants will receive free admission to the event. Cal gymnasts will don pink Cal uniforms for the event.
With your help the California women's gymnastics team hopes to raise funds to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through research, education, screening and treatment.
About the Susan G. Komen Foundation (courtesy of the foundation's website): The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, the Foundation is an international organization with a network of more than 75,000 volunteers working through local affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Together with its Affiliate Network, corporate partners and generous donors, the Komen Foundation has raised more than $740 million for the fight against breast cancer.
