"I'm really trying to find my rhythm right now. It's just like last year. I don't want to go out there and do too much because I haven't been in the flow yet. Right now, I'm just trying to get my feet under me, get back in the groove, get back in the rotation, so I can be that player that I know my team needs me to be throughout the year."
Head Coach Joanne Boyle on the victory:
"I feel lucky to get out of this one with a win. I think it was a frantic game. It was a frantic pace. I think the refs made it a frantic game as well. I think we got a lot of early travel calls, which is what they are emphasizing this season. I felt we didn't do a good job of boxing out. They got a lot of second chance points, and it gave them momentum. I thought we settled down in the second half and came back more confident and poised and that's why we came up with the win."
Boyle on the 49 fouls called in the game
"It was a ragged game. There is no flow to it. You end up having people do things outside themselves as they are just trying to get something going. When that happens, you just have to get your team to regroup. It wasn't their fault that everything was so ragged, they couldn't get into a rhythm, but when the game is called like that, we just have to find a way to play through it."
Boyle on the three-pointers by Hampton and Walker
"It's not the shot that I think we should always take, but if it gives us a little boost of confidence and she's feeling comfortable with it, it is what it is and we'll take it."
Boyle on the tournament finale against Iowa
"We have to get home, get some sleep. We're playing the late game again, so it's all about getting rest, getting some food in us, and coming back tomorrow with our game plan, executing, and getting the win against Iowa."
