SAN DIEGO - Seventh-ranked Cal (2-0) scored three runs in the top of the seventh to rally for a 3-1 win over Cal Poly, Saturday, in the Bears' second day at the Campbell/Cartier Tournament hosted by San Diego State.

Freshman Gina Leomiti led off the seventh inning with a single to center field. Sophomore Katie Vickers advanced Leomiti on a sacrifice. Leomiti later scored on an error after advancing to third thanks to a single by junior Alex Sutton.

Sutton also scored on an error after sophomore Julie Meyer's at-bat. Meyer advanced on a single by freshman Carly Winger and scored on an error after sophomore Erika Racklin's at-bat.

The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a home run by Melissa Pura.

Freshman pitcher Lauren Frankiewicz picked up her first collegiate win. Senior Kristina Thorson (1) entered the game in the seventh and earned the save. Frankiewicz struck out four, gave up four hits and a run in her collegiate debut.

Cal faces UC Santa Barbara this evening.
