Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"I'm really pleased, especially with the second half. I thought we made some good adjustments just in terms of running through things offensively more. Really being more aggressive. I think our defense really got our offense going. We got some easy baskets and got comfortable and we stopped standing around on offense."
On DeNesha Stallworth's improvements in this game
"We have been talking to her about it being more aggressive for the last week and what that looks like for her. In terms of level of energy and cutting hard. I thought she did a really good job of that in the second half."
On the play of Eliza Pierre
"I think she got the ball rolling for us. When we're struggling offensively, to get a couple of shot knocked down, getting a couple of layups just opens the floor for you. She is becoming that sixth man, that spark off the bench for us. She's embraced that role and she does it quite well."
On pressing in the second half
"We were flat-footed until we started to run a three-quarter court press. Trying to get some run and jump going. Trying to get some tips and steals. If you get some deflections and turn those into easy baskets, it takes away a little confidence from the other team."
Freshman forward DeNesha Stallworth
"I felt that what we needed to win was a lot of rebounds, because they shoot a lot of threes. Rebounding was a real key to the success of things. In order to win, we have to rebound, so I worked on that."
Senior guard Alexis Gray-Lawson
"After the last game, Coach and I talked about me being in the gym a lot more. Since I'm a senior, my schedule is really open because I don't have many classes. I really took that to heart and have been working on my game and make sure that I knock down those mid-range jump shots. I think I still need to work on my threes, but I am working on that."
