STOCKTON, CALIF. - Led by sophomore Michael Sharf's two goals, the No. 2-ranked California men's water polo team (4-0) defeated No. 14 Pacific, 8-5, Saturday in a non-conference match at Chris Kjeldsen Pool in Stockton. Cal also utilized balanced scoring attack, as six other Golden Bears scored on the afternoon - juniors John Mann, Brian Bacharach, Brian Kinsel and Marty Matthies; sophomore Mike Hayes and true freshman Shea Buckner.
The two teams fought back-and-forth in the first half with the score tied, 4-4, after two periods. Bennett finished the match with seven saves and added four steals.
