BERKELEY - Tonight's 75-70 Cal victory over Murray State marks the fourth consecutive year the Golden Bears won their season opener. It's also their sixth consecutive home-opening win.

Cal has now won 32 of its last 34 games at Haas Pavilion.

With his 18 points, Jerome Randle moves up to 18th on Cal's all-time career scoring list with 1,202 points, and he just 13 points behind Doug True for 17th (1,215). Not far behind, Patrick Christopher is now 24th on that list with 1,167 points.

Randle's 18 points on the night was a game high. Four Bears reached double figures in scoring - Theo Robertson (14), Patrick Christopher (13) and Jamal Boykin (12). Already Cal's best free-throw shooter in school history, Randle swished 10 of 11 free-throws tonight.

After leading the team in steals last year with 27, Jorge Gutierrez took the early team lead tonight with two steals. He was also a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arc.

Patrick Christopher played his 100th career game tonight. It was also his 80th career start.

Randle's four assists puts him at 378 for his collegiate career. He is eight assists away from tying Shantay Legans for sixth all-time in school history.
