California Head Coach Ben Braun
"I thought we put some hard work in. What a great college basketball game. What an effort by our guys and Oregon's out there answering every shot."
"Oregon was on top of their game, knocking down shots and making shots hard to defend, but we chipped away and got Oregon's guys in foul trouble and got our guys inside."
"Our players have to learn that when we move the ball inside and out we are going to get some good looks."
"I think Ernie (Kent) forced us to make some big adjustments and we responded."
"Now we have to go out and defend our turf and see how we handle it. It's a tough league. It doesn't matter who you're playing right now, it's how you play them. Our players have to understand that. I wish we could pack up all 12,000 of our fans and bring them along to Washington. Cal fans are the best fans in the world."
On Amit Tamir:
"He had that look in his eye. He really made the difference for us, no question about it. He stepped up and played with a lot of confidence and poise. I couldn't be any happier."
On Shantay Legans:
Shantay just willed this team down to the wire. Without Shantay we don't win this game."
Oregon Head Coach Ernie Kent
"The Pac-10 is an unbelievable conference this year. This is an unbelievable environment here in Berkeley. Cal has a tremendous home court advantage. The question tonight was whether we could come back from that loss to Stanford on Thursday night. We played hard tonight, but the balls just didn't go our way. That's life. That's life on the road in the Pac-10"
On Cal's Amit Tamir:
"Amit Tamir has a lot of experience. His body has been through a lot of games and he's a veteran experienced player that knows how to get it done. If Luke Jackson or Freddie Jones were his age, they would've had an easier time with him. Tamir stepped up with some big buckets tonight."
"They made more plays than us in the last seconds of the game. We'll get back to work on Wednesday and get ready to face the Beavers."
