Head coach Joanne Boyle
On the team's performance:
"It is good to get a game underneath our belt. We have been practicing pretty hard the last couple of weeks. It is nice to play a team that doesn't know you at all. It forces you to work on your stuff. I'll be honest, I wasn't happy at all in the first half with our defense. I think we were sloppy at times. I think we did a much better job in the second half."
On freshman guard Casey Morris:
"Casey is up and down right now. I think she did some really good things. She is a transition guard; she is moving the ball up the floor. Defensively is where I want her to work really hard, I think she had some breakdowns there. But for her first game and to get out and play in front of a crowd and be in a routine, I thought she did a really good job."
Junior guard Lauren Greif
On her five offensive boards:
"I think as a guard group that is something we have really worked on. We want to be the best rebounding guard group in the Pac-10. It is one of our goals. I was just crashing every chance I got. We were taking some outside shots so it gave me the opportunity."
"It's going to be part of our identity this year probably being a little bit more up tempo. There were some good moments and some bad moments. We fouled a couple of times out of it which we talked about. It negated all of our effort. But we were also able to flush them a little bit and get some easy traps and baskets out of it."
Senior forward/center Ashley Walker
On the Cal's posts:
"I think that our post group even though we are kind of small and misfits as I call us, I think we do a good. It was hard for us on defense because we were smaller and we can get better at it. I think that is something we will talk about when we get back on the floor."
