BERKELEY - The Cal football team wraps up its spring practices sessions with the annual Blue-Gold game Saturday at 2 p.m. in Memorial Stadium.
The Bears began their first set of workouts under new head coach Jeff Tedford April 1. Saturday's game will give the staff its last chance to evaluate the Bears before fall camp starts in early August.
T-shirts, tickets and other prizes will be given away throughout the scrimmage. Look for the marketing table inside the stadium to sign up.
The Blue-Gold game is just one of many events on campus Saturday. Cal's women's lacrosse team hosts Stanford at 11 a.m. in Memorial Stadium, while the Bears' 6th-ranked softball team plays Washington at 2 p.m. Saturday at Levine-Fricke Field in Strawberry Canyon, the Cal Open track & field meet gets underway at 9:30 a.m. at Edwards Stadium and the Cal baseball team hosts Washington at 1 p.m. at Evans Diamond.
In addition, Cal will host a Special Olympics basketball tournament in Haas Pavilion and the Recreational Sports Facility Saturday and Sunday.
