BERKELEY - The Golden Bears are back at home this week to host Brown and San Jose State in a triangular meet at Haas Pavilion starting at 7 p.m. Monday.

"We are certainly excited to be back at home and be back with our fans," said California head coach Justin Howell. "I think for everybody, being back at home will be good physically and mentally."

Monday's meet will be a quick turnaround for Brown and San Jose State, who both met Friday night at a tri-meet hosted by San Jose State that included Utah State. The Spartans finished with their season-best 194.550, while Brown finished third with a 189.90.

Junior Alicia Asturias earned second place titles in vault (9.9), bars (9.85) and the all-around (39.3). Asturias also matched her career-best scores on both vault and the all-around competition. Freshman Jordan Widener with a 9.65 in the floor exercise.

"We didn't have our full lineup on all four events heading into Utah, and we needed rest," Howell said. "The team went back to basics and really worked on some of our fundamentals this week. The team was training really well and I'm excited to see the results."

Cal dropped out of the Top 25 overall in the national rankings this week, but remains ranked in the vault (No. 22) and floor (No. 16) national rankings. The Golden Bears opened the season unranked and scored a 195.425 in the first meet, besting the team's top score of last season (194.725), and were ranked in the Top 25 for five consecutive weeks.
