LOS ANGELES - The No. 16 California men's soccer team lost its second game of the weekend as the Golden Bears fell to UCLA, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Drake Stadium. The Bruins scored the lone goal of the game in the 88th minute. The Bears fell to 7-4-1, 2-2, while UCLA improved to 5-5-2, 1-1-1.

Maxwell Griffin scored the game-winning goal for UCLA with assists from Kyle Nakazawa and Tony Beltran. It was Griffin's fifth goal of the season.

Senior Javier Ayala-Hil and junior Tyler Barry each recorded a shot on goal. Barry took a team-high three shots. Ayala-Hil and freshman Davis Paul took two shots each. The Bears were outshot, 13-11. Sophomore keeper Stefan Frei made four saves.

The Bears return to Berkeley next weekend. They face Stanford Saturday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. at Edwards Stadium.
