"I think we have had a couple of themes throughout the year. I think we really have to find some leadership in situations like this on the floor. We need communication. we're just all over the map. We are really inconsistent right now with what team is going to show up. If we don't show up, are we going to get leadership at some point during the game? We're on such a roller coaster right now, we have to get off the roller coaster right now."
"We struggle when people aren't guarded. I think, too, in the first half we had the wrong people taking shots. It was a free-for-all. That dug us deeper into the hole. You have to huddle and say we need good shots. These are what we have to run. This is what we need. That's the leadership we need and we didn't have that. Not to take anything from Washington. I think they are a really good team and building and doing well."
Senior Guard Rachelle Federico
"It is the start that is getting us right now. We are struggling to start games. Washington had a game plan and they executed it better tonight. They took things away and we didn't know how to respond. I think we haven't learned our lesson on that yet, on how to respond when teams take big leads on us. And how to come out from the start."
"We play well at home. We were excited to be home. It was something we were looking forward to, having our home crowd behind us. When we don't come out strong and when things don't go our way, we don't have what it takes right now to bounce back."
