Ashley Walker is the recipient of the first weekly Muscle Milk California Student-Athlete of the Week honor. The sophomore from Modesto, Calif., had an outstanding week for the Cal women's basketball team, leading the Golden Bears to convincing victories over Florida and Pepperdine, both NCAA Tournament qualifiers last year.

Walker was named MVP of the Timeout for HIV/AIDS Classic after averaging 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in two key victories. Cal improves to 3-0 while climbing to an all-time high ranking of No. 16.

Walker helped the Bears defeat Florida, 88-60, on the first day of the tournament by posting 17 points and eight rebounds. It was Cal's first-ever victory over Florida and second all-time over an SEC school. Walker followed that up be recording a career-high 25 points to go with 11 rebounds in only 27 minutes of action in a 72-54 victory over Pepperdine in the championship game. It was her first double-double of the season and ninth of her career. After the Waves cut Cal's lead to one at the half, Walker took charge in the second half, leading her team with 18 points and seven boards.
