STANFORD, Calif. - Since we had to go clear across the country last year, this year is better. Compared to last year, we are more ready to play because we didn't have to go so far. I think everybody is having more fun. Everybody likes playing near home. It's really close. We didn't have to go far at all. I think we're all excited about that!
It's nice playing at Stanford. We've played here at Maples Pavilion before. We've even won here when we beat Stanford last year. It's good to get to play here for the NCAA Tournament. We had a little bit of a lighter practice load this week. It's really just like we're playing at home. Last week was pretty hard. We had to run and sprint a lot.
Our hotel is really, really nice. Our beds are soft and nice. It's a really cool hotel. Last night after dinner, we watched some TV and then went to sleep. Tonight, we'll have study hall after dinner. It's hard when we're on the road because we have to catch up on our classes. We hope to go far into the tournament, so we'll have a lot of reading and studying to catch up on. We'll have a lot to do to get ready for school.
Playing San Diego tomorrow will be a good game. They have good post players and guards. They're very athletic. We need to focus on our defense and play good transition defense.
Since the Pac-10 Tournament, we've been working on making our offense more ready to play. We've also been improving our defense and our zone. We don't know what other teams we could face (if we beat San Diego), so we've been working a lot on ourselves in addition to preparing for San Diego.
We also get to wear our new warm-ups, which are really cool!
