Perhaps influenced by his inspired performance at last week's East-West Shrine Game, Cal defensive end Tully Banta-Cain has received a late invitation to play in this Saturday's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. The game, which starts at 11 a.m. PST, will be televised by ESPN nationally.
Banta-Cain, an All-Pac-10 first team selection who earned Defensive Player of the Game at the Shrine Game after recording four tackles, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles, will join teammate Kyle Boller on the North team in Saturday's Senior Bowl.
The Mountain View, Calif. native ranked second in the Pac-10 in sacks (13) and tackles for loss (22) last year. CNNSI.com named him to its All-America second team.
