BERKELEY, Calif. - California sophomore forward/center Ashley Walker has been named the U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 13-19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Walker, a native of Modesto, Calif., was named MVP of the Timeout for HIV/AIDS Classic after averaging 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.5 blocks in a pair of wins over 2006 NCAA Tournament qualifiers. It was Walker's first double-double of the season and the ninth of her career.

This weekend, the Bears travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take part in the Vanderbilt Tournament where they will face Belmont on Fri., Nov. 24 and then either Vanderbilt or Florida Atlantic on Sat., Nov. 25.

This is the first career Player of the Week award for Walker and the 23rd all-time for California.
