BERKELEY - Two more 2006 University of California football games have been selected for national television coverage, the Pacific-10 Conference has announced.
The Golden Bears will square off against Minnesota in their home opener on Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. (PST) with television coverage on TBS. The Big Game against Stanford will take place on Dec. 2 at noon. That game will be televised on Fox Sports Net.
In previously announced television plans, Cal is scheduled to have three contests televised on ABC, as part of the network's inaugural Saturday Night College Football package. Two home games will be part of the package, against Oregon (Oct. 7) and against UCLA (Nov. 4). The third game in ABC prime time will take place when the Bears travel to USC (Nov. 18). All three of the ABC games will begin at 5 p.m.
Remaining kickoff times and television plans will be announced at a later date by the Pac-10 Conference.
Cal is coming off an 8-4 season in 2005. It ended the campaign ranked 25th in the AP and USA Today polls. The Bears start the 2006 campaign on the road Sept. 2 at Tennessee.
