SAN JOSE, Calif. -
The first round of the 2009 Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational in San Jose was suspended after six holes on Monday and play on Tuesday was completely lost due to rain and poor course conditions.
After the play was halted in the first round of the 54-hole tournament, the tournament directors were hopeful to resume play on Tuesday, March 10. The teams did tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, but weather and course conditions at the Almaden Country Club in San Jose worsened, with the particpants removed from the course at 11 a.m. and the tournament finally being called off at noon.
The Bears take a break in their spring schedule. The next time the Bears will be back in competition is Friday, March 27 when they play in a tournament just added to their schedule at La Quinta Golf Course in La Quinta.
