No. 3 Women's Water Polo Defeats No. 14 Princeton, 12-3, No. 6 SDSU, 8-2, in Collegiate National Tourney

Hickey Pool, Davis, CA - The No. 3 California women's water polo team (28-5) finished the first round of the National Collegiate Championship Tournament, defeating No. 14 Princeton, 12-3, and No. 6 San Diego State, 8-2. The Bears next face No. 2 Stanford at 4 p.m. tomorrow.

The Bears dominated the match against Princeton, leading the Tigers, 6-0, in the first half. Cal tacked on six more goals in second half for a final score of 12-3. Seven different players scored for the Bears, and Cal freshman Julia Cesnik led the team with three goals.

Against San Diego State, the Bears led the Aztecs, 4-1, going into the half. The Bears added four goals in the third quarter to seal the 8-2 victory. Cal junior Colette Glinkowski scored three goals in the match, tallying 62 goals on the season.
