Oct. 19, 2009
BERKELEY - The California football game against Arizona State on Saturday, Oct. 31 has been selected for a regional television broadcast by ABC and will kick off from Sun Devil Stadium at 12:30 p.m., the Pac-10 conference announced Monday. It is the eighth Cal football game this season chosen for television with future selections expected.
A total of 81 Golden Bears' contests (includes upcoming scheduled 2009 telecasts at Arizona State and Washington) have been televised in seven-plus seasons under head coach Jeff Tedford. In the seven years prior, only 41 Cal games were televised. National television broadcasts have more than doubled during the period.
Cal (4-2, 1-2 Pac-10) will play three of the next four Saturdays at Memorial Stadium, beginning with a non-televised game against Washington State (1-5, 0-4 Pac-10) this Saturday, Oct. 24 (1:30 p.m.). Television broadcast announcements and game times for contests vs. Oregon State on Nov. 7 and Arizona on Nov. 14 will be made at a later date.
Fans can purchase tickets to all three home games at a discounted price compared to single-game tickets as part of the Cal Football 3-Game Pack. For only $120 (a savings of $33), fans will receive a game ticket in the reserved seating section for all three contests.
