BERKELEY - Golden Bear football is returning to Berkeley in the fall, meaning now is the time for fans to secure a place in a renovated Memorial Stadium with a seat-selection time for the 2012 campaign. The deadline to place a per-seat deposit to become a new season-ticket holder is Wednesday, Jan. 18 for those who want to gain priority over general public sales.

With the highly anticipated reopening of Cal's on-campus facility, which will include a reduction in seating capacity of nearly 9,000 seats to around 63,000, demand for season tickets is expected to be at an all-time high and fans are encouraged to place a deposit now.

For their dedication and support, all 2010 and 2011 football season-ticket holders, as well as all Athletic Donors at the $100 giving level and above, will automatically receive priority and a season-ticket seat-selection time.

Seat-selection times for fans who wish to become new season-ticket holders in 2012 can be acquired by placing a $100 per-seat deposit before 4 p.m. PT on Jan. 18. Click here to make a seat deposit now.

Season tickets start at $125 (under $18 per game) for youths and seniors in the GoldZone, including special adult rates within the section. Recent Cal graduates (2008-12) also receive a discounted season ticket located in the New Alumni section (QQ).

See the click here for more information on the overall seat-selection process.

When Cal football opens up in September, the Bears will host a seven-game schedule that includes UCLA, Oregon, Stanford and Washington among the visitors. A host of new amenities in the modernized facility will greet fans, including wider concourses and larger restrooms on the west side, bench-back seating with additional legroom in several donor sections, state-of-the-art video boards and a field lowered by four feet to improve sightlines for all.

Cal opens the year in Berkeley with Nevada on Sept. 1, followed by a home tilt vs. Southern Utah Sept. 8. The Pac-12 opponents coming to Memorial Stadium are:

  • Arizona State - Sept. 29
  • UCLA - Oct. 6 (Homecoming)
  • Stanford - Oct. 20
  • Washington - Nov. 2 (special Friday game)
  • Oregon - Nov. 10

REMINDER: Patrons within the groups listed below SHOULD NOT place a seat deposit. They are already receiving priority in a higher group.
