Berkeley, Calif. - California seniors Claire Curran and Amy Jensen were named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Doubles Team of the Month for February as announced by the ITA office yesterday afternoon.
Curran, a native of Dublin Ireland, and Jensen, a native of Brisbane, Australia, received the honor after going 6-2 last month with five top 35 victories. They also claimed the doubles crown at last month's Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the third leg of the ITA Grand Slam. Their victory was the first of any kind for Cal at this particular grand slam. On Feb. 16, the duo moved to No. 1 in the women's doubles rankings and are currently No. 7. Jensen's Rolex doubles title was her third career collegiate grand slam, tying her for the record with six other players. She previously won the last two NCAA doubles crowns with now graduated Amanda Augustus
