Golden Bears at Stanford for Big Flip

BERKELEY -

For the third time this season, the No. 10 California men's gymnastics team will meet Bay Area rival No. 4 Stanford, this time for a meet starting at 6 p.m. Sunday in Maples Pavilion. It will be the first men's gymnastics meet televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.

The squad is coming off a short break from last week's Winter Cup Challenge, where freshman Kevin Wolting and senior Steven Lacombe, along with former Cal gymnast Glen Ishino, vied for a spot on the U.S. National Team in individual performances. Ishino was one of 15 who earned a spot.

Previous to the Winter Cup Challenge, the team dropped a 439.350-413.400 decision to the University of Michigan Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich. As a team, the Bears notched a season-best 69.950 on the parallel bars, and saw strong individual performances on the vault apparatus from junior Matthew del Junco(14.950) and senior Ryan Patterson registered a 14.000 on the horizontal bar to claim second place.

The Golden Bears are now 4-1 on the season.
